Day 83 of the NHL lockout and there's seems to be no end in sight. From what I understand, the owners offered the players what they wanted, which was over $3 million in deferred compensation in their latest proposal. The players presented a counter proposal asking for more money. If this is true, I no longer support the players. I think both sides are being stubborn. If they keep on, more and more of the fan base will dwindle if it hasn't already. To be quite honest, I think there will be no season.
Meanwhile, there is still OHL hockey action. The London Knights came back from a 2-0 deficit to beat the Brampton Battalion 4-3. The Knights face Niagara tonight.
Now to some baseball.
The Chicago Cubs have signed Kyuji Fuyikawa to a two-year, $9.5 million contract today. It includes a $1 million signing bonus and $4 million in salaries in 2013-14. The Cubs also signed Ian Stewart to a one-year contract yesterday.
The New York Yankees have signed Brett Gardner to a one-year contract.
Minnesota have signed Jared Burton to a two-year contract extension worth $5.5 million.
Boston has acquired Kyle Kaminska yesterday to complete a trade that was made last month.
