Day 85 of the NHL lockout. The league have cancelled games through December 30. Why don't they just cancel the whole season because that's where their heading.
Meanwhile, there was other hockey action last night.
The Toronto Marlies lost to Abbotsford 3-2 yesterday afternoon.
The Ottawa 67s' beat the Kitchener Rangers 2-1 in a shoot-out.
Now to some baseball.
There has been another blockbuster deal. This time it involves the Kansas City Royals. It seems that the Royals are trying to become a play-off contender by acquiring James Shields, Wade Davis from Tampa Bay, plus a player to be named later or cash, in exchanged for Wil Myers, a top hitting prospect. Also going to the Rays are pitchers Jake Adorizzi, Mike Montgomery, and third baseman Patrick Leonard.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have signed Hyun-Jin-Ryu to a six year, $36 million contract.
Cleveland has signed Mark Reynolds to a one-year contract.
