Day 87 of the NHL lockout. Both sides met again today with a federal mediator at tow, which was requested by the players. In other hockey news, Oilers owner Daryl Katz will appear before Edmonton city council this week, concerning a new arena to be built. Now to baseball and there`s tons of it. Cleveland have sent Shin-Soo Choo to Cincinnati in a three team, nine player trade for Trevor Bauer and Drew Stubbs. The Indians also acquired Matt Albers and Bryan Shaw from Arizona. The D-backs will get Tony Sipp and Lars Anderson in return. Along with Choo, the Reds get Jason Donald and approximately $3.5 million in cash. The D-backs also acquired Didi Gregonus from the Reds. Well, we now know where Kevin Youkilis is going. He signed a one-year, $12 million contract with the New York Yankees. The Yankees continue to be a Major League powerhouse with signings like this. The Los Angeles Angels have signed Joe Blanton and Sean Burnett to two-year contracts. With no hockey on last night, I watched some NBA action. The New York Knicks beat Brooklyn 100-97. Top scorers: Knicks - Carmelo Anthony 45 pts, Nets - Andray Blatche 23 pts.
