Day 91 of the NHL lockout. The players will vote tomorrow on whether to grant their executive board the authority to dissolve the players union.
I did watched three hockey games last night, but the back of my mind was still on those people in Connecticut.
Two of them ended in a shoot-out.
Let's start with NCAA mens' hockey.
Western Michigan defeated Michigan 4-1 and Miami (Ohio) edged Ohio State 2-1 in a shoot-out.
The other game I watched was between Victoria and Red Deer of the WHL. That game also ended in a shoot-out. Red Deer won 3-2.
Now to some baseball.
Philadelphia has signed Mike Adams to a two-year, $12 million contract, pending a physical. The Phillies also John Lannon, again, pending a physical.
Detroit have signed Anibal Sanchez to a five-year, $80 million contract. Man! The tigers better hope he ends up with a good win-loss record at the end of the season. That's a huge chunk of change for one guy.
St. Louis have signed Ty Wigginton to a two-year contract.
Finally, Kansas City have signed Xavier Nady to a 2013 Minor League contract.
