Down Goes Palmer | Just Win Baby

Carson Palmer was 3/3 for 31 yards before taking a huge hit by Greg Hardy in the first quarter. Palmer, hanging onto the ball too long, was hit in the back by Hardy who led with his head. The xray of Palmer's ribs were negative, but Palmer would not return.

Enter Leinart, who was only able to manage 115 yards in 3 quarters. The Raiders offense was once again stagnant. McFadden had 33 yards on 17 carries, Goodsen had 12 yards on 4 carries and the longest pass play of the day went for 22 yards (ironically by Pryor on a trick double pass play).

Jerome Boger and crew were kept busy with a ton of penalty flags. A total of 6 unnecessary roughness calls on the day. A couple were sketchy, but most were deserved. Neither team kept their composure very well - including Cam Newton who earned an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for chest bumping the ref. He was lucky he didn't get called for the kick to Tommy Kelly earlier in the game, but as usual, the retaliating player gets the penalty. He should get a fedex envelope with a nice fine though.

The Raiders had a few opportunities to get in the endzone, but they apparently are allergic to it. At one point in the game, there was a graphic of 109 minutes without a touchdown - but I think that was at the start of the 2nd half, so we're probably at 120 minutes at this point. Ridiculous when you think about it in that context.

The Raiders have one last home game in San Diego (ha) that is winnable. Should the offense play like they did today, they'll end the year with a 4-12 record after going 8-8 in each of the last two seasons. And Greg Knapp should be fired.

A rough rebuilding season under another new coach is about to close out.

Knew it was going to be a challenging season, but didn't think it would be this bad. But when you lose half your team in cuts, trades and free agency, coupled with an injury depleted secondary... I suppose we were lucky to get 4 wins to begin with.

I still believe that had we stuck to the offensive system in place last year, things might have been different.

Absolutely Greg Knapp should be fired. Knapp turned a high powered offense into snoozeworthy laughingstock. If McKenzie doesn't can his butt, then Mark Davis should be canning McKenzie. We sure do get the opportunity to watch a lot of meaningless football as Raider fans.

I will seriously question the decision making by Allen and McKenzie if Knapp remains the OC. I can understand the need for continuity, but not in this case. It was apparent our players didn't fit his system early in the season. There comes a point when you have to just realize it isn't working. The experiment has failed.

Allergic to the end zone, good one. The first thing they need to do is get 3 new QB's that would be a start.

I did not see this game (but I've seen a few) and how anyone could think this coaching staff will be better next season is well, nuts.
