Day 104 of the NHL lockout. The league has offered a new proposal to the players. There was Spengler Cup hockey action yesterday. Team Canada shut out Davos (Switzerland) 5-0. The big news in baseball today is unquestionably the retirement of Hideki Matsui. Matsui played ten years in Japan and ten years in the Majors. During his time in the Majors, He tallied 175 homers, 760 RBIs and won a World Series Championship (2009) with the New York Yankees in which he won the serie's Most Valuable Player award. I also caught some NCAA football action yesterday. Cincinnati defeated Duke 48-34 in the Belk Bowl. It was quite an entertaining game with both teams exchanging leads back and forth. This was Duke's first bowl game since 1995.
