Day 112 of the NHL lockout. There has been some major progress in the negotiations in New York, Sportnet t.v. in Canada is reporting. Apparently, the pension and salary cap issues are being resolved. Sportnet is also reporting a tentative deal could be done within the next 24 hours. Keep your fingers crossed folks. There was, however, some NCAA hockey action last night. Army shut out Robert Morris 5-0. Some Blue Jay news to pass along. Jose Bautista has declared himself 100 per cent healthy after a season ending left wrist injury last year that required surgery. The Jays also claimed Chad Beck off waivers. Texas have signed Lance Berkman to one-year contract. The Chicago Cubs have signed Dontrelle Willis to a Minor League contract. The Los Angeles Dodgers have signed Alfredo Amezaga to a Minor League contract. The New York Mets have signed Omar Quintanilla to a Minor League contract.
