Great three days of testing at Daytona for Juan Pablo Montoya, after 148 laps the #42 team placed fifth overall. This Hendrick engine is making a difference, I expect a great year from Juan Pablo.
Another thing that will help Montoya in 2013 is the fact that (as announced by NASCAR) the new car will have more down-force on the mile and a half tracks, that's right up JPM's alley.
New car, new engine and an ex-Hendrick crew chief/engineer should give the #42 a great chance at redemption from a couple of sub-par seasons. (and that's being kind)
I have to believe this is the year Juan Pablo Montoya wins Indianapolis, he should of had two Brickyards by now.
As in 2009 when the # 42 team made the chase by changing from Dodge to Earnhardt-Childress engines, the 2013 season should bring the chase back to EGR.There is no question JPM can drive NASCAR, he just needs better equipment. Now he's driving the best engine in NASCAR, Hendrick power.
Enough said.

I've always thought that JPM could have better results than we have seen......hopefully this is a much better year for him.

I've been a Montoya fan from his F3000 days (1998) when he won the championship. I realize, as do you, that the Hendrick engines will help the struggling Earnhardt/Ganassi team. My question is, "Will it be enough?" The team's depth (or lack of), in the shop and at the track will be the determining factor.
IMO, little if anything will come from the Earnhardt side (they're like a name on the door). This is Chip's boat. He needs to step up and take the helm if they want to win.

Sorry Al, but I just can't help myself. I've never heard of someone "driving" an engine. I thought they drove the car with certain engine in it. Gotta' have fun or it 'aint exciting.

I agree ..I always said Chip should take a couple of years to concentrate on NASCAR, he has plenty of folks on the INDY side to run that program???.He should be at every NASCAR race this year running things???.

There are lots of questions about whether or not JPM can drive in NASCAR. I say you put JPM in Jimmie Johnson's ride, and the results don't change. JPM is done, stick a fork in him. Better yet, he's a never was in NASCAR. He's yet to prove he can drive successfully at non road courses.

I think he will do better at all the track types.......maybe that is just wishful thinking on my part.

This is why no one takes you seriously. You look at his profile and his teams and comment on that rather than his legitimate comments on your blog. Yet you hold your profile private.
Maybe you'd have more conversation, which is obviously what you seek, if you responded to the comments actually written instead of blind jabs at someone's team following that has nothing to do with your blog.

Actually, I rarely comment on your NFL boards because it's pointless. The few times I did, you assumed I was one of your 'Tebow Zombies' and that's when I knew there was no point in trying to discuss the topics you presented.
My 'agenda' is giving you constructive criticism. Up to you if you want to hear it or not.

But, what's not listed is I'm a Brad Keselowski fan. Been a fan since his rookie season. So while I'm pulling for the reigning champion, and the future of NASCAR, you're pulling for a washed up never was who's only claim to fame in NASCAR is blowing up a jet dryer.
