Watched Roger Clemens throw his four innings of work last night for Class A Tampa and as a Yankee fan I was very pleased. He gave up 1ER on 3H and had 2Ks throwing 58 pitches with his fastball topping out at 91MPH and averaging 90 MPH. I think the entire performance gave Yankee fans some hope as the team ended up losing to the Mets a few hours later. Can Clemens save the season by himself? No, but hopefully he can continue to take the necessary steps forward and give a strong effort every fifth day. His presence in the clubhouse will also help and hopefully provide more chemistry on a star studded team.

In terms of the Yankees major league team, the offense wasted another strong performance by Andy Pettitte who went 7IP giving up 5H, 3ER, 1BB, and 4Ks. The team is in desperate need of consistent offense and clutch hitting. It appears that Jason Giambi will play today even with the bone spurs in his foot.

Going to be a short post today as I am back doing graduation stuff for my sister, but I wanted to point out that the NBA did not get a single matchup they would have wished for. Jazz-Spurs and Cavs-Pistons will not draw the same ratings that a large market team would. Just thought it was interesting to point out after the Stern suspensions.

Picks for today:
MLB- BALT, NYY, HOU, KC, CHC, MIL, PHI, PITT, BOS (game 1), ATL (game 2), DET, OAK, CIN, FL, LAA, SD
Yesterday's record for MLB: 9-5; NBA 2-0

And of course the Preakness. Got a phone call from a college buddy today asking who I would bet my money on and the obvious choice is Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense.    So I will go the favorite route and pick Street Sense with my darkhorse Circular Quay.
