I had this blog just sitting around from when I applied to host the GT fan group, so I figured it would be a shame to let it go to waste.  Enjoy.

In his 3 year reign as the biggest playmaker for the Yellow  Jackets, there was never a single GT fan who would dare to say anything bad about Calvin Johnson.  I too love Calvin, and I don't blame him for this, but he took well-deserved attention away from another playmaker:  Tashard Choice.  For his entire career, Choice    has been in the shadow of the game's best playmakers (Peterson at OU and Johnson at GT). In '06, with P.J. Daniels gone and the running game belonging almost entirely to him, Choice had the kind of year RBs dream about.  Unfortunately, it went almost entirely unnoticed by anyone outside of the state of Georgia, and he didn't even make 1st team All-ACC.  Much hype went to Johnson for breaking the school's single season recieving yards and touchdown reception records (1202 and 15, respectively) relatively none went to Choice for his second-best in school history finish in rushing yards.  Choice finished first in the ACC and in the top ten in the nation in rushing.  Choice also set school records for 100-yard games in a season (9) and consecutive 100-yard games (7).  I'll miss Calvin, but it's time to wipe away the tears from his departure (not literally, that was a joke) and acknowledge that this is just the dawning of a new era.  Or, at least the one season before Choice graduates.  Calvin left the program in good hands.  With a new offensive coordinator, Choice, budding playmakers Bennett and James Johnson, and a recruiting class that includes two top-10 ranked quarterbacks in their respective categories (one dual-threat and one pro-style) and a top 10 running back (rivals.com), this program has nowhere to go but up.  That was just the offense, now that I look at it, defensive  recruits aren't to shbby either...actually, defense looks pretty solid. I'm booking a flight to Jacksonville for this December already.

You know your Georgia Tech ****, haha. Good to see some nice analysis. It's funny, being a Boston College fan and all, but I own a Georgia Tech hat for some reason.

And yup, we'll see how some dude on the Sox making his first start of the year (Hansack) fares against Smoltz tonight.

Not so well, sorry man. Smoltz was dealin' last night. You got your blowout and we got ours.
