The dynamic duo of driver #39-Ryan Newman and crew chief Matt Borland were reunited last fall for the final four races of the 2012 Sprint Cup season.
The pairing of the engineering majors Newman a graduate of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind., and Borland a graduate of the General Motors Institute of Technology in Flint, Mich. for a second time seemingly picked up right it left off in 2006, earning four top-12 finishes in four races, including two top-fives.
Newman and Borland's success in multiple series from 2000 to 2006 includes:
?? ARCA: four wins, three poles, four top-fives and five top-10s
?? NASCAR Nationwide Series: one win, six poles, two top-fives and eight top-10s
?? NASCAR Sprint Cup Series: 12 victories, 37 poles, 52 top-fives and 83 top-10s.
Newman and Borland's Stats at Daytona In 10 point-paying Sprint Cup races at Daytona from 2002 to 2006, Newman and Borland combined for two top-10 finishes seventh in February 2002 and third in February 2006.
The pairing also clinched a victory at Daytona's famous high banks in the ARCA Series in February 2001

I used to pick Newman all the time for any piks games I was in....but the last year not at all.....I hope to be able to pick him again.....hopefully Borland is the ticket that puts Newman back up there where he belongs.......is that a song somewhere? LOL
