04:53 PM ET 02.25 | The Washington Capitals have signed goal tender, Braden Holtby and John Erskine to two-year contract extensions. Two days ago, I wrote that there were reports saying Pittsburgh's Evgeni Malkin suffered a concussion after falling awkwardly into the boards in Friday's night game against Florida. Well, the Penguins made it official yesterday and placed Malkin on injury reserve (IR). Here are your three stars of the week. 1. Jakub Voracek - Philadelphia. 2. Steven Stamkos - Tampa Bay. 3. Ben Bishop - Ottawa. I watched three hockey games yesterday. Boston beat Florida 4-1, Winnipeg defeated New Jersey 4-2, and Anaheim edged Colorado 4-3. Only one baseball note to pass along. The New York Yankees will not have Curtis Granderson in their line up for at least ten weeks due to a broken right forearm. Matt Kuchar beat Hunter Mahan 2 and 1 at the Accenture Match Play Championship.
