When James Van Reimsdyk got a double minor late in the third period, I thought for sure Philadelphia was going to tie it up. It didn't help matters when the Flyers scored in the first two minutes of the power play. However, they hung on long enough to get the empty netter and get the 4-2 victory. New Jersey have placed goal tender, Martin Brodeur on the injured reserve due to a sore back. Montreal has acquired Michael Ryder and a third round pick from Dallas for Erik Cole. Now to baseball. I caught some exhibition baseball yesterday afternoon. Baltimore defeated the New York Yankees 5-1. Speaking of the Yankees, Kevin Youkilis missed today's game due to a sore left oblique. Quintin Berry also didn't play today due to patellar tendinitis.
