Zach Parise scored the winner in overtime last night as Minnesota came back to beat the Calgary Flames 2-1. Calgary had two great opportunities to break the game wide open in their favor while leading 1-0 for most of the game. They had a five minute power play in the second period and a four minute power play in the third (period). They were unable to capitalize on neither of them. In fact, the Wild's defense clogged the neutral zone so much during the four minute power play that the Flames couldn't get a good shot on goal. There no question in my mind that missed opportunities hurt the Flames in this one.
I also watched Tampa Bay/Buffalo game. Sabres edged the Lightning 2-1. I even caught the first period of the Colorado/San Jose game. Sharks won 3-2.
Now to baseball.
Philadelphia came back to beat the New York Yankees yesterday afternoon 4-3 in Spring Training action.
The New York Mets scratched Zack Wheeler from today's game due to a right oblique injury.
