I have some sad news to pass along. The man wrote and sang "The Hockey Song", Stompin' Tom Connors passed away yesterday at age 77. I found out about his death while watching the Ottawa/Toronto game on t.v. as they posted the news on the Air Canada Center's scoreboard last night while playing that lovable song. You will be missed, but not forgotten R.I.P. Stompin' Tom.
Well, I thought my Leafs were going to blow it, but they managed to hold off the Senators and win 5-4. It was Toronto's third straight victory.
Bad news for St. Louis Cardinals fans. Rafael Furcal will have to undergo Tommy John surgery and will be out for the year.
Mark Teixeria of the New York Yankees will be out for eight to ten weeks with a right wrist strain.
Texas have signed Derek Lowe to a Minor League contract.
There is a three way tie (-5) in the first round of the Cadillac Championship.
