Congrats to Florida Gulf Coast, Harvard and Belmont for punching their tickets to the 2013 Big Dance yesterday. The Stack will have a little more on them on Monday. No conference tournaments start today, but there are two conference tournament championship game today, hence the special edition of "the stack" for today, Sunday, March 10:
Big South championship preview
The Big South championship is up for grabs today at noon eastern on ESPN2 between Liberty and Charleston Southern. Liberty has stunned the field so far. They were the fifth seed in the north and have knocked off two of the top teams (High Point and Gardner-Webb) so far in the tournament. Charleston Southern though is the class of the conference. This is a one bid league and the winner possibly will have to play a game in the "First Four" round in the tournament. I'm guessing it will be Charleston Southern.
Missouri Valley Conference championship preview
It's number one versus number two in the MVC championship game as #1 seed Creighton takes on #2 Wichita State (2:05 PM ET on CBS). Both teams are in the NCAA tournament, but they want to take home the MVC title. Both teams made quick work of their opponents in the semi-finals and this is a good feature of Wooden Award finalist Doug McDermott of Creighton. The Jays haven't been playing all that well as of late and a championship would certainly mean a lot. I've got to go with my gut though and take Wichita State. They've been play better basketball as of late and I think they knock off the top seed in a close clash. Both teams are a force to be reckoned with in the NCAA Tournament.
