The game with the Pistons and Clippers was a laugher and I found myself switching channels. But DeAndre Jordan had a tremendous dunk that deserves to be praised at. Unfortunately if you do slow things down, IMO the Referees should have called a **Flagrant Foul on DeAndre Jordan.
**NBA definition: These fouls are considered unnecessary and/or excessive. There are two types of flagrant fouls, 1 and 2. A flagrant 1 is unnecessary contact. This is usually when a defensive player swings and makes hard contact with the offensive player or makes hard contact and then follows through. A flagrant foul 2 is unnecessary and excessive contact. This usually has a swinging motion, hard contact, and a follow through. Both fouls carry a penalty of two free throws and the team that was fouled retains possession. A flagrant foul 2 also results in an ejection of the player committing the foul. A player also is ejected if he commits two flagrant foul penalty 1???s.
You can see Jordan with his left arm give Brandon McKnight a blow to the head with the elbow. It was not necessary and it was extremely excessive. McKnight who lands on his back first would naturally either try to place his arm on his back to show that it was hurting. McKnight doesn't do so, but he does place his hand infront of his face, clearly from the blow that came from Jordan's flagrant shot to the face.
The NBA should give Jordan a Flagrant Foul and even possibly suspend him. McKnight was very lucky that he didn't slam the back of his head on the hardwood floor, this may have resulted in a concussion. A great "Street Dunk" but this is basketball on a professional level were Referees are paid to call fouls and violations, the NBA has to step in and keep player safety as of their top priorities.
Now onto more serious matters IMO....
