Wishin', and hopin', and thinkin', and prayin'. That's basically what this offseason is like for the Dallas Cowboys. Nothing has happened for the Cowboys in free agency since it opened a week ago. Ernie Sims, "cool story, bro". Nothing has happened that will make a significant impact next season. It seems like they are relying on the draft to plug in holes. I believe that round 1 through 3 provide starters. But unless you find a gem, rounds 4 through 7 only provide backups. The issue is that the Cowboys have more than 3 holes to fill. Defensive Tackle, Center, Safety, and a possible replacement for Doug Free are what I see as the highest priority holes. Granted.... it comes down to cap space. Mini Jones said that they have 5-figures of cap space after signing Sims. HOW DID THEY GET IN THIS POSITION!?!?! But we can be thinkin' and prayin'. Free Agency Wish List: Safety: Charles Woodson, Michael Huff, or Bernard Pollard D-Line: Alan Branch, Richard Seymour, or Sedrick Ellis O-Line: Eric Winston, Andre Smith, or Sebastian Vollmer Draft Wish List: Safety: MATT ELAM, Eric Reid, Kenny Vaccaro, or Jonathan Cyprien D-Line: Sharrif Floyd, Sheldon Richardson, or Jesse Williams (and Sam Montgomery as a replacement/backup DE) O-Line: Any Bama linemen (Jones, Fluker, Warmack), Johnathan Cooper, Lane Johnson, or Eric Fisher RB: Le'von Bell, Christine Michael, Stephon Taylor (strong powerful runners that can complement Murray, though I do like Phillip Tanner to fill this role) It the end, it seems like there is going to be more wishin' and hopin' this offseason.

Could it be that Jerry Jones has a new refreshing approach to this years Draft? <holding my breath>

Draft at least one potentially decent QB for a change.

No, the cap penalty that they still owe on is taking their chance at an experienced free agent for any of their critical holes. And just like with most teams, their personnel are typically way overpaid in lack of performance situations; which makes the working environment for even a top tier rookie suck. People that don't earn their paychecks tend to protect them the most.

JJ is not looking for a decent QB, unfortunately. romo will get his extension soon and will restructure to get more cap room. way too many holes to fill on this team and no $$$ to spend on free agency. will just try sign their weak picks...... another .500 year in '13 guys.
