12:39 AM ET  03.22 | After an embarrassing 23 point loss to Phoenix on Monday, the Los Angeles Lakers have a date with the Wizards of Washington on Friday. Pau Gasol and Kobe Bryant are recovering from foot and ankle injuries and are expected to play. After watching the Lakers-Suns game on Monday, the one glaring flaw in the Lakers defense is at the guard spot. The Phoenix guards were running right at the Lakers with pick and pop, iso plays, and fast breaks. When Howard comes to help, there's no help on the back side for Howard. Nash and Blake lack a certain physicality to compete one on one, but when they are on their A game offensively they can be a pain to any opposing defense. One thing that will help their cause is the return of Pau Gasol who will make the bench stronger and in their regular rotation. Another glaring negative is the lack of shot attempts by Earl Clark. One way to get Clark involved is run an iso play where he can slash to the hole, or pick and pop. The more Clark is involved the more versatile the Lakers are. All the naysayers complaining about Kobe The Mamba King's shot selection better take a second look at a Kobe-less LakeShow. So when The Mamba King and El Ca-bong get back into the line up with Dwight The D Warrior Howard, we should see a Lakers team heading down the stretch fully loaded.
