As you know, I usually start with hockey. However, there's been two major signings in baseball that should be addressed first. San Francisco have signed Buster Posey to a huge eight-year, $167 million contract. He better hit a lot of home runs for that price. The other big signing involves pitcher, Justin Verlander. Detroit has signed him to a five-year contract extension. Justin Morneau is day to day with lower back stiffness. Now to hockey. My Maple Leafs finally beat Carolina for the first time this season, winning 6-3 last night. Vancouver beat Colorado 4-1 last night. Detroit have signed college player, Dan DeKeyser to a two-year contract. Steve Wheatcroft leads the Houston Open by one stroke (-10) after two rounds.

Posey's the leader of the clubhouse. He doesn't need to hit a lot of home runs to earn his keep. He calls a good game and manages the staff well. His offense is just icing on the cake.
