A few thoughts...
1) The Bengals will never win as long as they tolerate insubordinate behavior.
2) Don't you think our organization would be better off if we were getting the type of attention a team like Miami is getting because of The Tuna? The only Bengals talk nation wide is Chads antics AGAIN! We need to get rid of this guy. He is unprofessional and a detriment to our franchise overall success.
3) Why do some Bengals fans keep making excuses for Chad's behavior? I am not trying to be insulting I am actually curious to your answer. His behavior is childish and selfish. NOT the type of things a professional, elite athelete should be saying.
4) Do you not understand that the Bengals organization is a joke nationally? It's because of antics such as Chad and stupid off the field problems. It makes me sick to think Bengal fans actually want Odell back! Why?! He is a cancer and a problem child. We need PROFESSIONAL players. NOT HOF jacket wearers and pot smoking alcoholics.
5) Leon Hall, Carson Palmer, Johnathan Joseph, Domata Peko... these are the type of guy's we need to covet and fight for. Good, professional, respectable, well-mannored and classy individuals and players. This organization will be taking a step in the right direction if they cut Chad Johnson, Odell Thurman, Chris Henry and Deltha O'Neill. Cut them YESTERDAY! Who cares about cap space. Send a message to your team and the league and fans nation wide that you are NOT putting up with attitude problems and off the field issues.
6) I could go on forever... any questions please ask me in a well mannored, respectable fashion. I don't tolerate insubordination and neither should the Bengals.

I don't believe ragging on Chad is really legit. He has had no major skirmishes with the law unlike many other of our Cincinnati Bengals. I agree with you that Palmer is the building block for the organization. Improvement needs to be made on both the D-line and the O-line to avoid another mediocre season.

I've see-sawed back and forth about Chad. I don't like they way he's handled himself, and the fact he couldn't be professional really irks me. But 8 mil cap is TOO much. We would be hog-tying ourselves. So I'm willing to watch Chad another year and give him a chance to mature. If Carson likes him and wants him to play, I do too. Plus, as much as I'd like to think that Housh and Henry could handle the catching, without Chad the field gets that much smaller and Housh would get all the attention. I think Chad just wants to feel loved, as ridiculous as that sounds, and that he childishly responded to media criticism. But unfortunately he's made it very difficult for Cincy fans to show any love for him now. OH I don't know - I'm willing to wait to see how it all plays out.
As far as the other players, if they do their time and are able to come back and be productive, competitive and difference makers, then so be it. I am not going to judge others about a set of circumstances that I can hardly understand or relate to. I don't want to keep people who will consistently be a problem, but if a two year, 6 week - or whatever time-frame absense does what it needs to straighten a player out, then I'll taken 'em back. It's if they do it again where I'll cut them off. I also think they are young enough that some of the veterans might be able to take them under their wing a little bit and slap the crap out of them. ;)
Just rattling the rocks around in my head - sometimes they make a pretty sound but most often it's just noise.

But I definitely agree that we need more "good" guys, leaders and character guys. I guess I'm a sucker for giving people second chances, but you're absolutely right that character should be more of a focus - and I think after that fateful year, they have been able to draft better guys. But even good guys can find themselves making bad choices. I think they do need to run a tighter ship and make discipline a BIG focus in the locker room and on the field.
