NASCAR FANS WITHOUT A CLUE
Heaven forbid. What could possibly be going through the minds of a certain group of low-informed NASCAR fans to "vote-in" Danica Patrick to the All Star Race at Charlotte? They certainly were't looking to vote in the most competitive driver - she's simply a media ****. Just like Obama, of whom she ardors - neither can, or has, got the job done.
Patrick ran around the track at the back, like she does most of the time, showing nothing. Absolutely nothing. It was a waste. Nothing more. Every other driver in the voting would have shown better than Patrick. What she displayed was quite disgusting. Allow me to puke.
Setting my rant aside let me congratulate Jimmy Johnson, Chad Knaus, the #48 team, Jeff Gordon (owner) and Rick Hendrick for the butt-kicking they gave everyone else. There is a reason that JJ is a 5-time champion. He, and his team, have the stuff that others just dream of - especially Kyb, Hamlin and that 'back-flipper' guy Edwards (what a joke).
Oh, Wait. There was Indy Stuff
After a week of practice - my Lord, how much practice do they need after eight million miles - they finally got down to qualifying - which the "fast-9" thing I had trouble of getting a grip on. Just why is it they need an entire week to practice? Indy's just a 2.5 mile, mostly flat, oval. Get to it and race for crying out loud. I guess it's all part of the 'media' built greatest track and greatest race in the world. Which I'm not so sure it is. After-all, there is the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Monaco Grand Prix and the Daytona 500. Oh, OK, you want to win Indy. Good for you.
Ed Carpenter on pole. How long will that last in the race? What thrills me is AJ Almindinger out qualifying his super big-teammates. And, on top of that, all three ladies made the cut. To me, that's super. Let's see how it all plays out come Sunday.
