Imagine Vincent Lecavailer wearing another uniform other than the Tampa Bay Lightning's. Well you start imagining folks. On Thursday, the Lightning decided to buy out the rest of Lecavailer's 11-year contract. The reason given is because of the salary cap implications. Lecavailer played at least 12 seasons with the Lightning, in which he scored 20 or more goals. Now the Lecavailer is out of the picture, who will be Tampa Bay's next captain? My choice would be Steve Stamkos. This kid has lived up to his expectations. As for his age, don't forget, Sidney Crosby became the youngest captain ever in the NHL. I say, why not Stamkos. Another good choice would be Martin St. Louis. Whatever the case, it will be odd at first seeing Lecavailer playing for another team. The question is, which team will he play for? I know one thing for sure. It probably won't be the Leafs.
