Last week, the Boston Bruins signed goaltender, Tuukka Rask to an eight-year, $56 million contract. Although, it's no surprise to me that the Bruins signed Rask to a long-term contract, I do feel the amount of money they're handing out to him is questionable. Yes, he did take the Bruins to the finals, but he was average. As a result, Boston lost the series in six to the Chicago Black Hawks. Another question comes to mind. What if Rask's success is a blip on the radar? What if he has a bad year next season. The Bruins will look like fools if he doesn't live up to their expectations. I don't have a problem with the term of the contract, it's the price. I think the Bruins might have given too much to this guy. Only time will tell I guess.
