The time has come. The common American sports fan is now immersed in the 3 1/2 week haze that is known as the "Dark Ages."
Legend has it, that every year, with the conclusion of the Super Bowl, ESPN and all other forms of sport entertainment become incredibly boring and irrelevant. The sports fan must make do on basic instinct and reality shows alone until the start of March Madness.
I am lucky enough to have recovered my daily log from 2007's Dark Ages. The following is an excerpt from February 25th, as I began to see the light at the end of the tunnel...

Grammar bad. deth neer. ben watching highlights of wild/islanders for the last hour and a half. seem entertayning. dehidrashen. the stranchest feelings. miss winter olimpics. nevermind, i take that bak. ben reeding nba power rankings. dallas number one. golden state is a joke this yeer. now, am watching bolling. unentertaining. starfation....
After that I slipped into a coma. I remained there until the beggining of March-when I discovered the Orange had been left out of the NCAA Tournament.
These are the days that try men's souls.
