08:26 PM ET 07.24 | When I went to NHL.com yesterday to find some news items to my website, I got a little bit of a surprise. The New Jersey Devils signed Jaromir Jagr to a one-year contract. I'll be honest, after Jagr went on that playoff run with the Boston Bruins this year, I thought for sure he would retire. Apparently not. Really, I don't know what Jagr has to prove. He already has at least two Stanley Cup rings and he's the same age as me (41). I guess he's trying to win one more. It doesn't make too much sense, though. New Jersey is not what I consider a Stanley Cup contender. Financial terms of the contract were not officially disclosed, but the article mention it ranged around $12 million. If that's the case, that might of sealed the deal for Jagr.
