Baltimore Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta will be out for the 2013 season, after fractureing his hip during the teams first padded practice yesterday. When the Ravens traded Anquan Boldin this offseason. The feeling around the organsitaion is that pitta would replace his production.

The Ravens will miss pitta on third downs and in the red zone. All quarterbacks love to have a safety blanket. Joe Flacco's saftey blanket is now out for the season.

Where do the Ravens go from here?

It starts with Ed Dickson, he is the next man up. Since being drafted by the Ravens in the 2010 draft, his play has been inconsistent. The pressure is on him now to step his game up immediately. Jacoby Jones will need to help pick up some of the slack also. The Ravens could sign a veteran free agent. Maybe Dallas Clark or Visanthe Shiancoe, who was at Ravens practice friday.

NFL News:

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin tore the ACL in  practice Saturday.

Donovan McNabb will officially retire as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles. What took him so long?
