Welcome to the Sports Informer its Tuesday August, 6

D-Day For MLB:

As expected Major League Baseball suspended 13 players Monday including, Alex Rodriguez, Nelson Cruz, Everth Cabrera, and Jhonny Peralta. Cruz, Cabrera, and Peralta were All-Stars selections this season. All 13 players were suspended as a result of MLB'S Biogenesis investigation. Each player suspended received 50 games bans except Rodriguez, who received 211 games ban. A-Rod will appeal his suspension and will be allowed to play until his appeal is resolved. The other players involved will not appeal and will begin serving suspensions immediately. A-Rod called the last seven months a "nightmare." A-Rod also said that he is "fighting my life." I agree with Rodriguez, yes he is fighting for his baseball life. I think if commissioner Bud Sellg had his way A-Rod would go away for good.

Manziel Investigation Continues:

The NCAA is investigating weather Manziel was received money for signing items for autograph broker Drew Tieman. Monday a eBay autograph broker who wanted to remain anonymous, told ESPN'S Joe Schad

That Manziels personal assistant Nate Fitch told him Manziel would no longer sign items for free. "Johnny Football" had sign items for this broker in the past. At his Monday press conference Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin said that "our university is doing its due diligence to find out the facts." A&M has retained legal counsel to help them during the NCAA investigation. The Manziel camp has yet to speak publicly about this situation, which leads me to believe that these allegations are probably true. For the record I think "Johnny Football" should be able to profit off himself, why not everybody else is. One final note I think the NCAA should make some changes to there outdated rule book.

News Around The NFL:

Eagles wide-receiver Riley Cooper is returning to practice today. When the team announced that Cooper was excused from team activities. I thought he would be away a little longer. According to a report Cooper will play in the Eagles preseason opener Friday.

Ravens Tight-End Ed Dickson has a slight hamstring tear, and will probably be out for a few weeks. This is not good news Dennis Pitta is already out for the season now this. Green Bay Packers signed Vince Young to a 1 year deal. I'm happy for Vince Young the guy deserves s second chance. The Packers I think is a nice landing spot for Young.
