Pro Bowl Game:  AD ripped it up, is it just me or does it look like this guy goes 110% on every play, in every way, expecting to get the TD every time?  Just one thing about that concerns me – is he risking longtime greatness for the short time spectacular?  At the same time I cannot imagine AD playing in a way that is different.  I hope you stay healthy AD; we’re looking to you to be our fantasy workhorse.

I’ve been thinking about this Vikings team and its long-term future.  They were one of the teams that pounced on the Giants and wrecked them top to bottom.  And thinking on this past decade’s Superbowl champs, there doesn’t seem to be many spectacular running backs, at least in AD’s makeup.  It still seems like a great defense and great QB are bigger keys to championship success than a great RB.  And I don’t think Tavaris Jackson will be able to become that great QB, nor am I sure the Vikings have that great D that is necessary.  At best, right now I think they’re San Diego lite, I hope the Vikes prove me wrong because I would love to see AD reach the highest stage.

Mets Watch: I’m feeling really good about the Mets’ chances this upcoming season.  No one in their division has their pitching, and I feel their biggest obstacle will be Colorado, Arizona, or San Diego.  All three of them have the skill players that would give the Mets major headaches.  Colorado’s offense is amazing and they have up and coming young pitchers.  I love Arizona’s all-around solid play, and that team is so young and good with Haren & Webb.  And San Diego’s offense needs some work, but they have arguably the best 1-2 punch in Peavy and Young.  The Phillies are definitely still a big threat, and I love Rollins (The Plaxico Burress of MLB), but hopefully the Mets can put them away.

If Pedro can make 20-25 solid starts (3.50 ERA, 13-14 Ws), then I feel really good about the Mets chances of winning their division.  Hopefully Maine and Perez will continue their solid development and each chip in their 13-17 Ws, with 3.50-4.00 ERA.  And the back end of the rotation will be filled by a combination of El Duque, Pelfrey, and Sosa (and it won’t be a factor in the playoffs when we drop our 5th starter).  And you know what Santana is going to bring to the table.

I see a big bounce back year from Reyes as he rediscovers the joy in his game.  The only offenses I think can match the Mets bat for bat are the Rockies and Phillies.  Wright & Beltran just have to keep up their games and I think this is the year that David hits the stratosphere and gets into the MVP discussions.  The main part of that lineup I dislike is Church and Schneider (what were you thinking Omar? – I hope that decision turns out well but I kept thinking the main reason Omar made that trade was to add more White guys to the team as he was getting criticized the Mets were becoming the all-Latino team).  I wish they still had Milledge and Estrada instead of the ex-Nationals, but I guess we’ll see how that works, I’m willing to give that combo a chance.

Knicks Watch: It’s a miracle they won a game!  But seriously can you guys stop winning so we get a high lottery pick (there’s no hope for this team even if they get the 8th seed).  There have been rumors that the Knicks are looking to trade their big men in Curry and Randolph.  DUH, should have never gotten them in the first place.  Damn get rid of Isaiah already!
