It's Valentine's Day, so everyone sit down, put the roses to the side, and turn on some sappy love music!

The Cure

1. The Cure - Friday I'm In Love

Startin’ with The Cure! Everybody loves this song. It’s happy and depressing at the same time, but mostly…It’s Thursday and I’m in love with Friday.

2. Bon Jovi - Bed of Roses

Welcome to the power ballad of the edition. What if Zoro had trained not to fight, but to play guitar, and had busted out an epic solo from the top of the Rocky Mountains captured in video by a flyover helicopter? Enter Richie Sambora. What if a much, much cooler version of the nerd from Breakfast Club with a good voice came in and belted out a sick ballad to counter Zoro’s guitar? Enter Jon Bon Jovi. What if some guy had followed Zoro up the mountain with a grand piano and played along with him? Enter some guy. And that’s “Bed of Roses” in a nutshell.

3. Jack's Mannequin - We Were Made For Each Other

Jack’s Mannequin, a girl’s delight. If listening to JM is emasculating, then I don’t want to be right. “We Were Made For each Other” is a cool song that’s happy enough to make this lovey-dovey list. I love the way the horns are used; It really adds another level to the song.

4. Josh Ritter - Kathleen

Josh Ritter is a country singer, but he doesn’t sound it in this song. It’s a good’un, too; light, acoustic, and sappy. I don’t listen to this song often, but it’s a great one for a gay old mood. (No, not that kind of gay. Grow up. All right, sort of that kind of gay. But mostly the other kind.)

All the other girls are the stars
You are the Northern Lights

I’ll be yours for this song

Ahhh....

-----------------------------------------------------

5. REO Speedwagon - Keep On Loving You

This is the granddaddy of all ballads, love songs, and soul music. REO Speedwagon’s hit “Keep On Lovin’ You” has been heard a million times over by all of America’s faithful citizens. And for good reason, it’s Valentine’s Day, and…

I don’t wanna sleep
I just wanna keep on lovin’ you

Marvin Gaye

6. Marvin Gaye - Let's Get It On

Yes! A perfect capper! With all the romance that’s been going on tonight, it’s time to put the finishing touches on the night with that special someone. And how do you do that? Dim the red-tinted lights, take off those satin bed sheets, and turn on some “Let’s Get it On” from Marvin Gaye. The next step? Well…

Good day everyone, and have a luvely Valentines Day! (back to normal mode again)
