McFadden at #2?

Report Offensive Comment

The Lions NEED A Defensive Lineman, Millen will seriously be shot if he does not take one in the first round...

Report Offensive Comment

Balmer is rising, but I still don't think he's a top 15 pick....top 25....

Whodeyjb, Mendenhall has the size advantage over McFadden, along with the strength for when he goes head to head against defensive lines/linebackers or whoever it may be. He also has the speed and power abilities that would make him a more quality back. McFadden will not do as well, because his speed is mostly what he has. In the NFL, the Linebacking Cores are MUCH faster than College, making them able to get to the outside faster to take down McFadden much easier than they would be able to do in College.

Report Offensive Comment

Whodeyjb, I think McFadden is the better player, but Mendenhall is the better pro prospect. One thing I look for in running backs is lower body strength and McFadden doesn't have very good lower body strength. I know a lot of people are in love with McFadden, but I'm not.

I am not hyped on McFadden myself...

How far has Mike Hart dropped on you "board"?

Report Offensive Comment

Where's Kenny Phillips on your board?

Report Offensive Comment

Badgerfan, I never had Mike Hart in my top 6 running backs because I feel that he's worth a late round pick. He just can't take the pounding it takes to last in the NFL

All about life & sports, I like Kenny Phillips, but he's not a top 5 defensive back. He's a top 2 safety along with DeJuan Morgan from NC State, but I hate to separate safeties and cornerbacks. I think guys like Aqib Talib and Brandon Flowers would project as safeties in the NFL and might be able to play both positions. Some teams like the Cowboys might look at Brandon Flowers and start him at safety because they want to get their best 4 playmakers in their secondary, but they might move him to cornerback in nickel and dime situations.

Report Offensive Comment

Well, there Bah, I must disagree with you. He won't last with his power in the game, and McFadden will? Another #20 comes to mind when I see Michael Hart play. You know exactly who I am talking about, and he was not a big guy either when he entered the NFL, but he is arguably the 3rd best Running Back to step onto the field.

Report Offensive Comment

Detroit Fan, the guy is 5'9'' and 210 pounds and with the pounding that a running back takes in the NFL, I don't think he can last as an every down back. He runs with power, but I think if he becomes an every down back in the NFL he would get injured a lot and I don't think he would have a very long NFL career. I think he would make a good third down back and he'd be a good backup, but I think there'll be guys with better physical talent in the first 2-3 rounds who I'd rather take. I said the same thing for Maurice Jones-Drew and I was obviously wrong there, but we'll see if I'm wrong about Mike Hart.

Report Offensive Comment

Are you trying to make a statement putting mcfadden at two. Overall good though. I think joe flacco might end up being the best.

Report Offensive Comment

Elway4prez, the only statement I was trying to make about putting McFadden #2 is that I think Mendenhall is a better pro prospect at running back. In my opinion, as a college player, McFadden is better, as a pro prospect, Mendenhall is better.

Report Offensive Comment

matt ryan as the 3rd QB ?

2nd, maybe, but 3rd behind henne ? don't know about that one man but i do like the mendenhall at # 1 over mcfadden, it makes sense...

i don't know about sedrick ellis as a top 5, maybe a top 10 instead.

Report Offensive Comment

Ed Reed Fan, I think one reason a lot of people have Matt Ryan #1 is because of his sick game against Virginia Tech where he was really clutch. However, that was the only game where Matt Ryan was really clutch. Against Virginia Tech in the ACC Championship Game, it was 4th and 4 inside the Virginia Tech red zone with about 2:00 left and he had a guy wide open in front of him, but he threw the ball all the way across the field and it ended up being picked and it had nothing on it. In that situation Matt Ryan panicked because he was being chased outside of the pocket.

Not only that, but Matt Ryan has major issues about forcing the football where it shouldn't be thrown. Against Wake Forest, he threw for 400 yards, but he threw some horrible interceptions and it during that game when I knew he wasn't that good. If it weren't for some horrible calls against Wake Forest, Matt Ryan would've lost that game for Boston College.

Not only that, but Matt Ryan has trouble recognizing blitzes at the line of scrimmage, especially off the back side. He doesn't know when he's going to get hit if the defense brings an extra guy a lot of times and he panics in those situations. Not only that, but I also don't see Matt Ryan as having great pocket presence and that worries me when you combine the fact that he doesn't recognize the blitz very well and he doesn't know when he's going to get hit.

As for Chad Henne, he is a little reckless with the football, but he's nowhere near as reckless with it as Matt Ryan. Against Florida, Michigan whent with a spread attack that worked very well against the Florida defense. Chad Henne did a great job of recognizing when and from where the blitz was coming. He was also very clutch in that game as well. That Florida game really sealed the deal for me.

Report Offensive Comment

Also, Brian Brohm has all of the tools to be a very good quarterback. He's got everything that Matt Ryan has and his pocket presence is reminiscent of Tom Brady. He stands tall in the pocket, he never panics when under pressure and he knows when he's going to get hit. He's very careful with the football as well. In my opinion, he is, by far, the best quarterback in the draft and I think he's the guy that the Miami Dolphins will select at #1.

yea, i getcha bah humbug, i just was surprised to see henne over ryan, that's all...plus, the other comments i made too above.

McFadden will be a huge bust. He will be just like Lawrence Phillips who was a great college back but had no discipline nor commitment with the rigors of the NFL. Phillips ended up in jail....In college, McFadden was able to hide behind the collegiate atmosphere and coaching staff who shielded him from constant exposure. Now that he is on his own, he will succumb to the NFL and big money along with his entourage of bad friends. Anyone who scores well below 10 on the Wunderlick test should be avoided!!!!!!!
Just watch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
