This is my first blog so I hope you enjoy and I love feed back ......
As I watched the Vikes this past season I like most of us true viking followers were left with both questions and a glimps of what could be something special. I must say the future could be very promising but there must be an answer to some of the questions I my self feel are very important off season issues.
#1. The quarterback and wide receivers - Tavaris Jackson .... there is a part of me that really likes this guy and I hope he can take charge of the offense. The other part is not confident he can, I mean a quarterbacks dream is when a defense throws 8 and 9 man fronts to stop your very potent running game. He did nothing with that and thats the biggest problem I have with him. Sure his mechanics are terrible at times but I believe Childress can work with those minor details. But I worry that If he can't take advantage of the single coverage that we were getting than it really does'nt matter what are talent at wide receiver is.
#1B - I really hope we address our receivers in the offseason ... both through free agency and the draft, Im not saying we should draft one in the first round because I know that it's risky unless he's a top 5 wide out and there are none in this class. But I think going out and getting a good veteran free agent and then drafting one say in the 2,3 or 4th rounds should help us out. Williamson is a bust and I never liked that we drafted him anyways ...Wade is a solid slot receiver and Rice could be good but I think it may take 2 more years. That is if Jackson can mature into the kind of qb we need or we atleast grab a veteran qb who can win games for us.
I'll end this blog for now as I am at work and should probably do something ....I'll add more as the off season unfolds.
