With the recent trouble of Justin Miller of the Jets and the Bengals continued off-field problems, I dug deep to see why all these professional athletes keep getting in trouble. I came up with a pretty good answer as well. How many of you played sports in highschool and were the star of the team? I was'nt the "star" but I was the starting point guard for my highschool basketball team my 11th and 12th grade years and starting half-back as well. Now I got some pretty favorable treatment from coaches and teachers as long as we were winning. Yes, I got special treatment. The problem with these athletes is they got the same treatment I did in highschool and then in college. So for the past 5 to 6 years, these guys were able to do whatever with little to no reprocution for thier actions. Now I am not defending any of the NFL players that have recently got in trouble, but we should start holding them accountable at alot younger age. That is the only way to get rid of this problem. Have PARENTS, teachers and coaches to get together to see how they can praise thier children without turning them into social degenerates.
