So as it stands it is the end of February and what seems like years away from kick-off 08. I’m trying to figure out what I am going to do to pass my time till the Bucks make another run at WINNING a national title. I've tried to think of things that might be fun to do, work out, go out, watch NASCAR haha, watch something, but nothing inspires me right now. I don’t know what it is about the late winter drag in Ohio that absolutely kills your mind.

Its like all the fun is gone from Fannation right now, the SEC fans are hibernating, the PAC 10 is quiet, except for MARIN, but he's never quiet....I'm sure I'm proving my inadequacy from my public education some how...The only story is WVU, RR, and TP, of which I am really bored with discussing. Lately I find myself on the hip hop fan group page a lot, which seems to be one of the only places that is interesting to me. I like to keep my blogs short, I feel like if they get too long people lose interest, I think I have a case of a.d.d. so I assume most others do as well.

So, here are some of my opinions on sports mostly from the great state of Ohio, but I'll throw in a couple nationwide things as well.

OSU basketball--what a disappointment? I thought Coach Matta would have good year, but have some struggles, man was I wrong, The Bucks can't find the basket, all the games last year that they found a way to win, this year they find a way to give it away...maybe it’s a recruiting ploy by Matta and Tress to land Pryor...

OSU football---great class, who will be the next sleeper....

The Cavs---Made am interesting move last week, maybe it works out for them, and I enjoyed watching them play well last year in the playoffs till the debacle against San Antonio. Maybe its ploy by Lebron and Tress to land Pryor..I think Big Ben helps, but the answer lies in a quality pg of which they just don’t have...make a move for a good 1 and the Cavs are the cream of the crop in the east. Oh and for those who say Cleveland can’t beat the Celts, I believe they have a winning record against them this year. Go Cavs!

How 'bout Roger Clemens I thougth I would quickly touch on this, I don’t care, what he took, what he didn’t, it doesn’t matter to me. I don’t think it’s the governments business to go after him there are bigger things to deal with than steroids in baseball..cmon, the war, the economy, my grad school loans...geesh!

Maybe my lovable loser friends from down south, yes you beat the Bucks yet again, great job! Now you have disappeared and probably wont show up again till the season starts and you want to be ordained as the best conference in the history of sports, but not at all caring anything about you team, just the strength of the conference right guys????? I mean collectively you could beat down the entire army on 300...then again the loss could be a ploy by the sec and Tress to land Pryor..

and as long as I'm throwing some arrows, lets talk about the behavior in Fannation as of late, its becoming more and more immature, last fall, we could argue and make fun of each other and our teams of choice without insulting our city, school, job or financial status...apparently that’s out the window now. We are still here for sports aren’t we? Look if you can have the intelligence to create a blog, follow a team, be a great fan, and show some good insight for all, then you can understand the difference between fun jabbing and moronic insults...No one from LSU is the love child of their sister and brother, no one from wvu would actually take RR life, C’mon people, were are capable of understanding a cover 2 with the safeties rolled up to bracket a Z receiver, why cant we understand the real world? Finally, I would like to say bye to some people on here that I like to read about and trade thoughts with, Esco is out for awhile, Kraz said he was gone too, and a few others, thanks for the good stuff guys! And all of you in the military thanks, keep up the good work and come home safe, we have a weird country, but its ours and you guys protect it, so we can have a fannation!Later till the next time people, hope this wasn’t too convoluted to understand....

I don't get it. Kidding, good job man. Winter in Ohio sounds like winter in Iowa. Especially this winter, absolutely soul crushing!!!!!

February 27, 2008  02:36 PM ET

Good blog. I can't wait for the first game of the RR era at Michigan. I hope that game is televised nationally.

February 27, 2008  02:39 PM ET

Good blog,OH-IO!Winter in OH-IO.Shewie!We've had three snow days in like a week.

February 27, 2008  03:41 PM ET

OSU a sleeper? Hardly. I would rank them at #2 to start the season if I could. They'll be #1/#2 if they beat USC (that's a big if though, but the same goes for USC). Speaking of that, where were you and the rest of the OSU fans on my TD about OSU being #2. I had one lousy OSU fan backing me up.

It has become immature. It's hard for some people to trash talk w/out it becoming personal.

I'm bored too. NASCAR cut into my Simpsons on Sunday too.

February 27, 2008  03:49 PM ET

haha Simpsons has been one of my favs for years...I didnt know about theTD I would have been there!
I was talking about a sleeper recruit hitting it big like Hawk, Smith, lil Animal, etc...

February 27, 2008  05:58 PM ET

Good job--you might have a long wait for another championship run. Can you say OVERRATED again. The Cavs however could make some noise, but will fall to Detroit or Boston. You're also right about winter in Columbus. I think the cold freezes the life out of the place.

February 27, 2008  10:01 PM ET

Anthony, sounds good sign me up!

February 27, 2008  10:37 PM ET

Get NASCARed

February 28, 2008  10:25 AM ET

<---in Columbus also esco, maybe renting one of my sweet limos & going out partying would end your winter blues.American USA limo in the yellow book.I agree that there are much more immature comments, but that's because of all the school kids leaving there mark of immaturity here on FN.Good blog and i too am sick of the cold.I wish i was still on my cruise in the Caribbean, man it was sweet and warm.

2008 OSU recruiting class sleeper - Orhian Johnson - either as a dual threat QB who didn't get a lot of time to develop in high school or a pro prospect CB or S (depending on where Prior signs)

March 4, 2008  07:22 PM ET

Overrated? Who else would you have seen play in 2008?
1. The winner of the OSU USC game will find themselves with 1 of the NC slots theirsto loose. Live with it and if you're a fan of another team, hope they get upset.
2. At the end of the regular season OSU (players and fans) were happy to be headed to the Rose Bowl. If you weren't happy your team won their conference title and played in a BCS game after getting 2 regular season losses, get some perspective.
3. In 08 who else would you have seen in the title game?
2 loss VT who was already clobbered by LSU?
2 loss USC, 1 against Stanford destined to finish last in the PAC10 until the upset ?
2 loss WVU,1 against Pitt destined to finish last in the Big East until the upset?
2 loss Oklahoma who looked worse in their bowl game, lost to a team destined to be Bowl inelgible until Colorado got the upset, and then lost again to a team destined to finish next to last in their division until Tex Tech got the upset?
A 2 loss team who didn't win a major conference?
Hawaii? BYU?

...or do you select the team with the best record of any team in the major 6 conferences, and pit them agaist a team with 2 close losses despite having a rash of injuries that would have crippled any other tem (and in some cases like Oregon, Mich, and even USC did)?

The hard part in 2008 wasn't just beating the top teams - for Oklahoma, WVU, and USC it was beating the lesser teams. Stanford, Pittsburgh, and even Colorado and Texas Tech wouldn't have been top teams in any conference in 2008.

Demand a coach who can beat the bottom dwellers as well as the top teams and you will have better results than taking pot shots at teams who did make it to the NC game...

Good stuff Prove it! Couldnt have said it better myself!
Hllwyd remember Corvette Drivers!

March 8, 2008  12:31 AM ET

AH! Men talking Buckeye football... Besides watching an actual game, not much else makes a girl happier...

42 days 'til Spring Game!!!

:)

March 11, 2008  01:55 PM ET

So did all of you Columbus folks actually survive the storm? When I was there, people used to FREAK if we got more than two inches of snow. (Those of us from farther north laughed at them...) I can only imagine what 20 inches of snow did...

March 11, 2008  03:48 PM ET

You have no idea how much people freaked, I couldnt believe it, you would have thought the world was coming to an end! and now its tuesday and mostly gone, lol. Not to mention how bad people in Cbus drive when it rains, let alone alot of snow

March 11, 2008  06:59 PM ET

Cbus drivers are the WORST, even on beautiful sunny days! I have driven in MANY major metropolitan areas (Chicago, Detroit, DC, Nashville, Cleveland, Columbus, etc.) and Cbus outranks them all in terms of bad drivers...

Glad you survived (the weather and the drivers)!

:)
