Not a lot of Bradley news floating around today, but I dug up a couple of things that are worth a mention.
> Former men's basketball players James Gillingham and Phillip Gilbert have both confirmed that they will attend the Alumni Game on June 3. Both players played at Bradley from 2000-04 and are both in the top 20 in scoring in school history. That makes four players that were with the Braves from those four years to agree to participate in the activities, joining Jason Faulkner and Marcello Robinson, who were both also very good players during their time on the hilltop.
> There's an interesting discussion taking place over at BradleyFans.com about the basketball crowds/student section. A lot of good points being made, mostly that all fans need to wear red to every game. I have to say, I completely agree with this idea. There is nothing more annoying that a bunch of fans at the games wearing nice dress shirts, suits, or whatever else. Why people think they need to dress up for a basketball game is beyond me. Like the slogan said "Wear Red. Wear Pride." It's not a difficult concept.
> Former men's basketball recruit Dwight Buycks has signed with Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa. Buycks had committed to BU for the 2007-08 season, and had been regarded as one of the top players out of Wisconsin, but he failed to qualify academically. There was some talk that he might go to prep school for a year and come to Bradley in 2008-09, but that is clearly no longer the case. Buycks will no longer be eligible to play Div. 1 basketball until the fall of 2009. I don't see him coming to Bradley at this point. (Kudos to Da Coach at BradleyFans for the link.)
