I would thought that Moon and Green would score higher.

Horford should be rookie of the year.

Kevin Durant is the only good thing that the Sonics have right now. He has been put in a really bad situation, and I hope that he can be paitent. If they are lucky the Sonics will end up with Beasley in the draft. (I don't see him staying at K-State another year). Then they will be able to make some noise in the west.

Durant hands down. just wait in two maybe three years they will be a good team they are clearing cap space and stocking up on draft picks. don't be suprised to see them let talent develop over seas ala spurs.

Since you only asked for one name I guess the results were predictable. A better poll would have been for the All-Rookie team. Regardless, any list of the best rookies that had more than three or four names on it would have to include Thornton. His post-December numbers would have him leading the pack. Oden? You're kidding, right?

With all due respect to the overt flair of Kevin Durant's game, I think Al Horford should be this year's top Rookie. He has a mature, fundamentally sound game. And he doesn't need the ball to be effective. He might not be spectacular as Durant but he is more efficient, hence, more productive.

On a top team, and as an effective role player, take a closer look at Glen Davis on the Celtics. If you prorate his stats to the time on the court he will right in there. A key player in the future.

Kevin Durant is fantastic, but he is not the ROY. He is a scorer who doesn't shoot a high enough percentage to be the ROY. Al Horford is the best choice. He is averaging nearly a double-double. He is already a more polished player than many NBA big men.
Some other mentions: Landry on the Rockets - they are nearly unbeatable when he is the lineup;
Joakim Noah - he is extremely productive, but just does not get enough minutes. Last night Noah played starters minutes and had 13 points and 20 boards.
Landry and Noah are both very productive, but they don't have the minutes to be considered ROY.

Luis Scola is not even considered?? with 17 wins in a row with him as the PF starter? when he is the main offensive threat on the post? Shooting over 60% FG? I'm not saying he is the best, but is definitely a top 3 choice...

Where the *&%# is Luis Scola on this list.. the NBA needs to open their eyes! The Rockets are friggin' 18-1 since he has become the starting power forward and NOW HE IS A LEADER on the hottest team since the new year.. Pathetic that his name isn't even mentioned!
