In wake of the latest loss to the Buffalo Sabres, Brian Campbell. Yes another intricate part of the Presidents Cup winners just a season ago, Sabre mania had taken over Western New York and around the world (because of Buffalo born citizens transplanted elsewhere, myself included though I have had enough and will be moving' back) anyway, this organization has not held up their end of the bargain, even though I know we as fans have no bargaining power, we are just supposed to buy tickets and support what ever product they put on the ice. Now I don't believe Campbell is the best d-man in the league, but he was a part of a team that had the most important element of a team, Chemistry. Any of us know that means just as much, if not more than the most talent (New York Rangers, Washington Redskins etc.). I also might add that what they got in return was a great player and a 1st rd. pick, Quite honestly Buffalo in my eyes got the better part of the deal in the long run. The Sabres organization can blame it all they want on the "New NHL" the "CBA", the small market Theory and whatever else you want, what it actually comes down to is one sad, sad misrepresentation of a real Buffalonian, Larry Quinn, he is the reason for the demise of this franchise right before our own eyes. Even through the Bankrupt Rigas era there was hope, the team was on the right track, and then came the supposed savior, Mr. Golisano, who has pulled a disappearing act, maybe like many other sad pro owners get close or even win one and sell mentality ex. Fla. Marlins, etc. etc.. Back to Larry, Mike Grier, Jay Mckee and also J.P. Dumont were the first to abandon the Sabre ship and Grier stated he did not like the direction the organization was going (Quinn), then the real heartbreaker the loss of Briere and the one that hurts the most Chris Drury, these are two guys that Loved Buffalo and stated they would stay in Buffalo for a reduced rate only to be insulted by the organization (Quinn). Which now brings me to Brian Campbell, this one is also very hard as he is was drafted and worked his way up in the system, he also stated he did not want to leave this organization, A 3 year contract, is it really the Money? (Quinn) what is really going on here, Sabres fan have supported this team, not just at HSBC, but at rinks around the whole league, I myself have attended games in Tampa and Sunrise Fla. and if it were not for Sabres fans the arena would be quite empty. So in conclusion let's be honest here, that is all we as Buffalonians ask, be honest with us, I honestly know the removal of Larry Quinn from the WNY area would not only help the Sabres but the waterfront project as well, I am formally announcing the start of the "Lets get Larry Quinn outta WNY" Venture! NOW WHO'S WITH ME!!!
