i heard recently that Sam Zell, the new owner of the Cubs, was wanting to change the name of our precious endangered species of a ballpark Wrigley Field. The striking blow of this news was not unlike the Kennedy assassination; a loss of innocence that will never be recaptured. This is the most detestable thing to ever to happen in Chicago. (Except for maybe Gasey. Oh, and Al Capone.) Historic Wrigley Field has been around since 1914, making it the second oldest ballpark in the country, other than Fenway. It is a work of art; it has a great atmosphere and electricity about the field. everyone knows and loves that stadium, except for sox fans, but screw them. We love that ballpark; many of consider it our second home. the ivy, the scoreboard, the eamus catuli, I love every part of that ballpark. And now Sam Zell wants to change the very face of that ballpark. There is an album the british rock band The Who once wrote called "The Who Sell Out." Well, pretty soon cub fans will not be unlike the Who. We will have sold out. We will also usher in a raw power sound from our guitars that will revolutionize the face of music. Not really. But honestly, do you really want to go to a cubs game and hear "Welcome to beautiful Viagara Stadium, home of the Chicago Cubs." Sam Zell is a **** **** if he thinks chicagoans are just going to lie down and let this happen. ****, if this were the old west, they'd have him ridden out on a rail. And the way cubs fans drink, i wouldn't be surprised if they did anyway. That guy is so thick. He's probably like "Well, duuuuuuuuuh, Marshal Fields' name was changed to Macy's, and the people of Chicago took that transition quite smoothly, right? so why would they object to changing Wrigley?" Seriously, that guy couldn't tell his ass from a whole in the ground. the name Wrigley is what separates us from those barbaric sox fans. they sold out; they gave up their historic name. And us Cubs fans look down at them because of that. But now the cubs are no better than them. Pretty soon, we'll be fair weather fans who have more drive-bys than line-drives (shudders at the thought.) It is just hard to imagine Wrigley Field without it's name. What will they do with the sign outside the stadium? Where will Jake Blues claim his residence now? Eggo Stadium? Will it still be called wrigleyville? That name is a part of Chicago history. Sam Zell is doing a very back asswards thing by changing it. Really, it should be the people of chicago's choice for a stadium name. why should we have to give in to this **** (who actually lived in Chicago. Is this guy nucking futs or what? Seriously, this guy could wreck a one-car funeral. His own.) So, Zell, i'm begging you; don't be an asswhole. you will never get Chicago cubs fans to like you ever again. (Unless you some how win for us seven world series. And you change the name back to Wrigley.)

I never liked Zell to begin with. As a rule, I distrust Sox fans more than anyone else, save for a few groups. The ****er seems to be under the impression that it is just a name, rather than being a part of Cubs lore and Chicago history. I still don't care for the New York invasion of my city. So what makes this piece of **** Sox fan think I'll actually put up with the name being changed?

Zell's from new york? Ah, man, I could have gone into a nice little subrant about how new yorkers need to stay the **** out of Chicago.

No, he's a native born Chicagoan. By New York invasion, I mean Federated, which is now just known as Macy's, and Donald Trump. Federated, as you may well know, bought Marshall Field's, and changed the name. By doing so, they effectively killed a part of Chicago's history, and replaced it with garbage. To this day, Chicagoans are against this move by the New Yorkers who simply don't understand. Or rather, they do understand, but simply don't care. That would be in line with the typical New York attitude.

Now you may be wondering what Trump has to do with things. It's simple. He bought the building that used to house the Tribune, tore it down, and is putting an eyesore in its place. It will be his newest hotel. These New York pricks are trying to turn my beautiful city into another New York. We have our own culture and identity. Why should we bend to their will? **** them.

If selling the name of the stadium can bring the Cubs a World Series win, I wouldn't care if they named it **** Field.

Really, it's been a tiring life of watching the Cubs disappoint year after year. History be damned if the Cubbies can hang the Championship Banner.
