Remember back in 1995 when Art Modell decided, out of nowhere, to move the Cleveland Browns organization to Baltimore pretty much over night? Well, Browns fans have that same feeling as they traded away their offense yesterday to the city where Baltimore moved to back in 1953, Indianapolis. In 1995, Cleveland wasn't getting anything in return. Their organization picked up and left like a one-night stand. And now, the Browns trade away their most prized possession and they don't exactly know what they are getting back in return. But at least they still get to watch a football team in Cleveland next year (unless they pick up again and move to LA). Fans from the mid 90's didn't even have a team to root for. And even when they returned in 1999, they didn't have much of a team to root for. The Browns organization has made some oddball moves that include drafting or starting 18 different quarterbacks since 1999. And it will be 19 starting quarterbacks come Sunday, because Brian Hoyer will start due to an injured Brandon Weeden. Why shouldn't Browns fans be surprised? I guess it's because they'll make the playoffs in four years. That's how long it took for them to make the playoffs after they returned to Cleveland in 1999. Why they traded away Trent Richardson, I don't know. But what I do know is that Cleveland fans shouldn't be surprised. It happened in '99. It happened yesterday, and it will most likely happen again. PS- The Indianapolis Colts will win the Super Bowl in 2018 and 2031 if history repeats itself. Those are the years adjusted to present time that the Baltimore Ravens won their Super Bowls after Browns relocated there and changed their name. With Richardson relocating in Indianapolis with Andrew Luck, it could possibly be much sooner than 2018.
