That's the way my dad and I used to kiddingly refer to Coach K. We did so, not to make fun of his name or him, but rather as a "guy thing," ala those old "Wazzup!?" Bud commericals.
I've always been of fan of Coach K. Not necessarily of Duke, but of their coach. I like the way he "does things." I like that he played at Army for Bobby (can't refer to the "re-invented" "Bob" moniker) Knight, and that he coaches at a really good academic school. I also like that he's emotional, that he uses very "colorful language," and has stayed loyal to Duke. For those reasons, the Blue Devils have never become one of those successful teams that I root against because of their success (for me at least).
I wrote a blog honoring Vivivan Stringer (I refuse to acknowledge the "C" in front of her name for the same reasons I can't all of a sudden refer to Knight as "Bob") for her 800th career victory, so I wanted to do the same for Coach K. Considering what an up and down season this has been in college basketball, maybe he's got a few more wins still to capture this year.
