Everyone has an opinion about the changes happening to the Patriots. Well, I'm no different, so here's mine. With Asante Samuel signing with the Eagles and Randall Gay heading to the "Big Easy" and Eugene Wilson on his way out the Patriots have a lot of work to do. Mr. Belichick and Mr Pioli are two of the best talent evauators in the NFL. I have to believe they have a plan. Did the Pats lose good talent, I would have to say yes! Although I think Asante Samuel will have success in Philly and will definitely be an upgrade, I also believe they probably overpaid for him. We all know that New England won't overpay for anyone.....except maybe Mr. Tom Brady. As far as losing Donte Stallworth, I was sorry that he didn't get the chance to show his talents with the Patriots. Too many receivers, limited his opportunities. I wish him the best in Cleveland.
Defense will probably be the main concern, although they did re-sign Tedi Bruschi ( a fan favorite), they will need to address many issues on the defense. They can go through the draft or use Free agency. I believe they have a better chance through FA. They will of course have many more chance in FA then in the draft.
My wish is that New England re-signs Randy Moss. There are very few teams that have a quarterback the caliber of Tom Brady. Moss wants to show off his talent and won't go to a team that he thinks isn't a contender. Also there will be salary cap concerns for some teams. Hopefully he will choose the Patriots. If money is Moss' main concern he should go elsewhere, but if winning a championship is his goal, stay with the Patriots. I still believe he will be back, but N.E. will survive without him. Pats' fans should be patient, Mr. "genius" is on the case.
