The Los Angeles Dodgers lost another close game to the New York Mets today, 6-5. In the ninth inning, the Mets rallied back with three runs to win the ball-game. Sadly, this is the Dodgers' third straight loss during Spring Training thus far.

The Recap:

1) The Mets were handicapped. Brian Schneider, Ryan Church, Marlon Anderson, Carlos Delgado, Carlos Beltran, Damion Easley, Endy Chavez, Luis Castillo, Ben Johnson, David Wright, Jose Reyes and Moises Alou did not participate in today's game. The Dodgers should have easily beaten the Mets' "second-stringers."

2) Joe Torre was angered by today's loss. He commented that, "If you get beat, that's all right. You beat yourself, that's something you can't allow to happen." Welcome to Los Angeles, Joe. This is a small step under New York.

3) Nomar Garciaparra went two for three with three RBIs in today's game. Garciaparra, a former-Red Sox, is competing against Andy LaRoche for the starting third-baseman job in Spring Training. If he continues to play like this, he won't need to worry about losing his starting spot to the promising rookie.

4) Derek Lowe pitched two scoreless innings giving up one hit, but striking out two batters. He is projected to have a 13-12 record with a 3.71 Earned Run Average in the 2008 Regular Season. But, who knows what could happen?

5) Mike Koplove earned the loss surrendering three runs on two hits in the ninth inning. He only pitched two-third of an inning, shooting his Earned Run Average to 16.20 for the day. I hope the Dodgers' will choose better relievers in high-pressured situations, such as this, during the the Regular Season - when every pitch counts.

The Dodgers have a 1-3 record in Spring Training thus far, featuring two losses to the New York Mets. They're scheduled to face off against the Baltimore Orioles tomorrow at 10:05 AM PST. Lets get a win!
