Sports Fan's Book of Psalms

Chapter 12:8-33

On this day I bring forth jubilant news! Our sworn enemy's leader, Brett Favre, has fallen at last!

Gone are the days of saddened Bears fans,

of the stuttering Bears CBs,

of Green Bay offensive dominance,

of John Madden guy love,

of one sided games with 300 yards passing from that hated Mississippian from Mississippi,

of Cheezehead-wearing mongrels laughing in our faces,

of Wisconsin-based tyranny,

of BRETT FAVRE.

REJOICE BEARS FANS! THE NORTH IS OURS FOR THE TAKING! THE BEARS WILL RISE AGAIN!

DANCE WITH US VIKINGS AND LIONS FANS! FAVRE IS NO MORE! HUZZAH!

No longer shall you see this Anti-Pope man smile, for Favre hath retired today!

Rejoice, Bears fans, O ye sons of Halas, for glory shall return to this hallowed city once more.

Rise from your hibernation/slumber! Gain your rightful place atop the throne! Gaze upon it's glory!

Soon we shall see lowly Lambeau, and say "What hath thou become?"

A MERE SHADOW OF ITS FORMER SELF!

It's god and caretaker Favre has fallen.

O, look ye Lombardi spin in his tomb.

No longer shall the Packers be rulers of the North. Now they shall be rulers of Cheese.

Madden's cries and shrieks of sadness can be heard over the hills and vallies. The music and celebration drowns out his shrieks from reaching our overjoyous ear lobes.

Wake from your sleep, O Monsters of the Midway, and become what you were born to be, better than the Packers once more.

(above): The Dreaded One

Favre, your career was long and your exit timely. But thoust maketh a mistake!

Leaving the controls of your hallowed offense to a mere mortal? Aaron Rodgers? Pish Posh, Hogwash!

Soldier Field shallt feast on him. Chicagoans shall celebrate like they have never celebrated before.

And we can rest peacefully once again, knowing the nightmare named Brett Favre will never return.

I went a little over the top with this one, but being a Bears fan, it's nice to know we won't have to deal with him again.

March 4, 2008  10:51 AM ET

lol I like it...but I'm a Favre fan...What if Aaron Rodgers comes good?

March 4, 2008  10:51 AM ET

I wouldn't have minded playing him a few more times... he was throwing more picks against the bears in the past couple years. Remember the past two seasons we're 3-1 against Favre. But, how can you not be a little happy that we won't have to hear Madden sucking brett favre anymore. BEARS!

I am going to be smiling for at least a week.

Aren't you cool...

I'm a Bear fan big time but how can you not like Brett Favre. He played quarterback the way it should be played. I for one will miss watching him play. There is not a Bear fan out there that wouldn't rather have him under center than what we've had. And lilwound is correct, we've handled Greenbay just fine the past few years. It's the rest of the league we seem to have a problem with.

March 4, 2008  11:37 AM ET

Come on now? We've beaten Favre 9 out of the last 11 times in his career, including sweeping the series again with Kyle Orton as our QB for Christ sake. We needed Favre to beat Minnesota and Detroit for us since it's obvious he couldn't beat the Bears anymore. I'm sadden because sucky teams like Detroit will start to win now and that darn Adrian Peterson is now enemy number1 well at least behind Bernard Berrian!

I can tell you how. How about 20-4 against the Bears from 1992-2003? I hate the s o b and I always will.

But he was a good one.

March 4, 2008  11:47 AM ET

I agree with QMAX21. The way AP ran against us i would much rather chase Favre.

March 4, 2008  11:47 AM ET

One man does not make a team!!! AND the bears will still suck no matter who is leading the Packers!!!

March 4, 2008  11:49 AM ET

The Steelers aren't exactly the best team in football either, Drew.

March 4, 2008  11:52 AM ET

Galloping_Ghost, you can't sit there and say that you wouldn't have wanted him as your quaterback. Do i need to go through the list of train wrecks that we have had.

Exactly. Favre may have been one of the best, and I respect his God given talent. But I still hate the prick, along with the rest of the cheeseheads and NFC North that doesn't wear blue and orange.
