The Los Angeles Dodgers won the first game of their double-header against the Washington Nationals, 5-3. Their record is now 2-3-2 in Spring Training, which is truly nothing to write home about. The second game is underway, as the Dodgers hope to achieve a .500 record in Spring Training.

The Recap:

1) Esteban Loaiza pitched two perfect innings in today's game with two respectable strikeouts. Sports Illustrated claims that the ace wanted to pitch in the third inning, but Joe Torre told him to hang it up for the day. It's reassuring to know that he is confident in his success and future with the Dodgers.

2) John Lindsey, a first-baseman for the Dodgers, went two for three with one home-run and three RBIs today. His two-run homer in the top of the sixth inning broke the tie-game to put the Dodgers' in the lead. The Nationals were unable to score a run, as Los Angeles marched on to victory.

3) Andre Ethier also hit a home-run, batting .500 with two hits in the game. The slugger also stole a base, which is his first of Spring Training. It has been a tough battle between him and Juan Pierre for the starting-job in Left-Field thus far.

4) Andruw Jones is batting .167 during Spring Training, after failing to get a hit in two at-bats in today's early game. The Dodgers' off-season investment isn't looking that great at the moment. However, it is still Spring Training and hopefully he will perform better during the Regular Season.

5) Lastings Milledge of the Nationals went two for three with three RBIs today. The frustrated Mets waited on him to perform like this for years, and it looks as if he became a star in less than a couple of months in a Washington uniform. Will this be the next chapter in a book of the Mets' worst trades, notably Scott Kazmir for Victor Zambrano?

Finally, the Dodgers' offense capitalized on the Nationals' mediocre Pitching Staff. As of now, the Dodgers are tied with the Nationals at two runs a piece in second installment of the double-header. Lets get our second win of the day!

Blog Note: I will be going to Rochester from Wednesday to Friday and may be unable to update Dodger Daydreams. On that note, I wish the Dodgers luck in their future games. Go Dodgers!
