On Sunday, March 2, Fantasy Insider Online held a fantasy baseball experts mock draft, which included a slew of representatives from some big-name fantasy sites. The draft was hosted over at Mock Draft Central - a quick plug for MDC... it is a great site with a good deal of draft info, namely ADP material (Average Draft Position) - a special thanks goes out to MDC. This was a 12-team draft consisting of standard [5x5] Head-to-Head scoring. The experts who took part in this draft were as follows (shown by draft order):

1. Todd Farino of Fantasy Baseball Search
2. Mike Kosmoski of Creative Sports
3. Chris McDonnell of Big Dawg Baseball
4. Rich Lerner of Fantasy Insider Online
5. Dan Lam of Fantasy Baseball Sherpa
6. Geoff Stein of Mock Draft Central
7. Richard Garcia / Nick Minnix of KFFL
8. Drew Dinkmeyer of Insider Baseball
9. Jim Nguyen / Michael Vu of Fantasy Sports Matrix
10. Cory Humes of MVN
11. Ted Carlson of FanBall
12. Brad Stewart of MLB Front Office

Roster spots consisted of the following: 2 C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, MI, CI, 5 OF, UTL, 9 P, and 3 bench spots. Before I go into the evaluation of my own personal draft, as well as some analysis for the upcoming fantasy baseball season, I urge you to review the results of the mock draft here.

The biggest mistake I made in this draft was ignoring my outfield spots. The format was a little different with five outfielders, two catchers, a corner infield spot, and a middle infield spot. Outfield should have been one of the more important areas to concentrate on, especially with the lack of depth at the position. There is no reason that OF Michael Cuddyer should be my third option at the position. There is some potential for my outfield, however, as OF J.D. Drew is a nice sleeper option and OF Adam Jones figures to see everyday playing time in Baltimore. OF Milton Bradley also has nice potential. All in all, there are too many question marks at this position for me, and my first two outfielders (Manny Ramirez and Corey Hart) are not sure things either.

SP Adam Wainwright was a bad pick in the 11th Round... (Read the full article here: FIO Fantasy Baseball Experts Mock Draft)

Alfonso Soriano was taken way too high in the Draft, in my opinion.

Thanks for the insight. I know CrookedPitch.Com has information regarding Fantasy Baseball. I'm surprised to see that they weren't participating in this draft.
