Well, the MLB season is upon us as spring approaches and I have to say that I am very excited for baseball to be back. I am an extreme Red Sox fan and enjoyed winning the World Series last year. Anyway, that season is over and now a new one begins. As a fan, I would love to see the Sox win the Series again; and as an analyst, I can honestly say that I believe they are the favorites without any favortism on my part. Many people are picking the Tigers as the best in the AL. I, however, see a problem with the Tigers. Their pitching! They have a top heavy rotation with Verlander and Bonderman and the bullpen has serious issues. Now that Zumaya is out for a while they really have no stability, especially with Todd Jones as the closer. Any game in the 9th with Jones on the mound can still be won by the opposition. I mean, the guy had an ERA over 4 last year as a closer. So, here's how I see the playoffs shaping up. The Indians will win the AL Central, the Red Sox the AL East, the Angels the AL West, and the Yankees win barely beat out the Tigers for the Wildcard. In the NL: the Cubbies in the Central, the Mets in the East, the D-Backs in the West, and the Phillies beat out the Dodgers for the Wildcard. From, there I see the Sox beating the Angels and the Indians beating the Yanks and the Sox topping the Indians in the ALCS (same as last year). In the NL: the Cubbies will beat the Phillies and the Mets will go down to the D-Backs who then proceed to beat the Cubs again, this time in the NLCS (100 years and counting, bless their hearts and all old time Cub fans).  In the World Series I see the Red Sox taking down the D-Backs in 6 games.
