I wish the media would stop it's over examination of Henry "HANK" Aaron for deciding not to attend the eventual breaking of his Home Run record by Barry Bonds. Whatever his reasons are be that the steroid cloud surrounding it or lack of interest in doing so thats his choice he's earned. I know baseball has provided him a great life and the ability to do many things but he really owes nothing to the game. The guy has been a class act and true "Ambassador" he deserves his feelings respected. The abuse and stress the man had to deal with from racist fans who weren't in favor of him breaking Babe Ruth's record must have been unimaginable. Honestly if I were him I wouldn't want to deal with the whole Bonds ordeal. The bombardment he would have to deal with from Moronic Reporters questioning him on his opinion if Bonds cheated, did he himself cheat, to does the record deserve and asterisk next to it if Bonds does break it. Forgive me I would tell the media where they could put that asterisk!!! I can't believe I actually heard one media person say Aaron should feel obligated to support Bonds because he is a fellow black man who will have to deal with scrutiny and abuse. To compare the "Death Threats" and "Racial Abuse" that Aaron had to endure to a man dealing with scrutiny of cheating and such brought on by himself is like comparing a "School Yard Fight" to the "War in Iraq". Get with it media and let the man be. He freakin earned it!!!!
I do feel Selig has no choice and must attend. It is probably baseball most sacred record and it appears it will be broken. If he chooses not to attend that will appear as he himself believes the record is tainted and should not be taken seriously. Either way it's another black eye for the game that may never be recouped..
