DAY-TO-DAY DILEMMAS
Martin Havlat, RW, CHI - I am sure that everyone is surprised to see Havlat's name back on here... for only the third time this season. Havlat reinjured the shoulder that already held him out 22 games earlier this season, and believes that he will undergo season-ending surgery to correct the ailment. Havlat has missed a total of 29 games this season and has 27 Points in 35 games. He could be a great fantasy player if he could ever be 100%, but he is fast becoming the most often "could be" superstar in the NHL.
Marek Svatos, RW, COL - In the midst of a nice little six-game scoring streak, Svatos injured his knee on Saturday when the forward collided awkwardly with the boards and did not return to the game. Svatos did not play in the Av's game on Tuesday and has yet to undergo further evaluation. At the moment, the only prognosis is "out indefinitely," though if it was a serious injury, more info would more than likely be available. So, do not worry too much about Svatos if he is on your fantasy squad.
Cristobal Huet, G, WAS - Huet started his Capitals career in a great way by shutting out New Jersey late last week, and followed that up with another victory over the Bruins. However, he was forced out of the Boston game late with back spasms and took Wednesday's game off to rest his back. Huet has immediately shown all of the fans the reason for why the Caps brought him in... the net is his now, with G Olaf Kolzig filling in when necessary, though Kolzig will likely be gone after this season since he is still too good to just be a backup.
Ray Whitney, LW, CAR - Whitney is suffering from a mildly strained groin that has kept him out of practice for the past few days... (Read the full article here: Week 23 Frozen IR Report)
