The Eagles are trying to be really sneaky with what they are doing. The Eagles parted ways with DE Jevon Kearse, this move will save them about 4-6 Million in cap space. The Eagles also cut OLB Takeo Spikes yesterday to save them 5 Million. That leaves a lot of young players at that position, but they are talented. The signing of DE Chris Clemons just gives the Eagles the deepest Defensive lineman sets in the NFL.

Andy Reid understands that it is "do or die time for the Eagles". The Eagles are going to include CB Lito Sheppard in any trade they do for a WR. There is only one good WR in Free Agency but, Bryant is good but not top flight. The Eagles will get pressure on opposing QB's. The Defense is getting younger, but better. The Defensive line and Linebackers average around 26 yrs old.

With the cuts of DE Jevon Kearse, OLB Takeo Spikes, and CB Lito Sheppard (trade), The Eagles will have enough cap space to trade for WR Larry Fitzgerald or WR Chad Johnson. Then the Eagles would have enough to re-sign Larry Fitzgerald to a 6 or 7 year deal to make it more cap friendly.

I think Coach Reid finally understands that his offense is just missing a Top WR. I am a Cowboys fan, but the Eagles have one of the best methods to build a team. Andy tried hard to sign Randy Moss. So a trade for a Great WR is going to happen. With these moves he is just making it that much easier for them.

The Eagles will be right back at the top and could be the NFC East Champs.......It will be a good fight for the next 4 seasons. McNabb will be back to the Pro Bowl with a great WR.

I WROTE THIS BEFORE ANY SPORTS WRITER OR FAN NATION!

Good article and analysis. Very dispassionate considering you're a Cowboys fan. But then maybe you enjoyed the good old days when the NFC East was the class of the NFL. I hope you're right.

It still is! 3 Playoff teams two seasons in a row.

1. Cowboys 12-4
2. Eagles 11-5
3. Giants 10-6
4. Redskins 8-8

I agree that this scares me as a Cowboy fan........ McNabb has missed games for the past three years and isn't getting any younger. So if Kolb isn't the answer the Eagles could still be missing a key piece.

Well stated AL, maybe a little too unbiased for a Cowboy's fan, but well stated!

the eagles def need a top WR. as a fan im excited forthe chang for them to get back into the playoffs. i see the NFC est having three playoff teams for the third straight year. it going to be hard guessing which three someone has to stay home

With Westbrook at the helm (healthy and energized), the eagles are capable of anything. I wouldn't be surprised to see them winning the NFC East and going deep in the playoffs.

Look for them to go the first 8+ games undefeated next season. This team looks very scary to me.

They still stink though.

GO COWBOYS!!!!!

i havent seen respect from cowboys fans like this for awhile. When Mcnabb is healthy, the Eagles are at thier most dangerous.

oh yea, E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!!!!
