WARNING: In reading this blog you may experience signs of minor to major homerism or biased-ness. These are known side-affects of this blog.

Duke-UNC. What a rivalry. And when you're a Duke fan, you've been pretty mad at Tyler Hansbrough. He ruined 2 out of 2 Duke senior nights that he has played in, and has won 3 in a row a Cameron Indoor Stadium. Last night we saw him take shots in two different ways: shooting the ball ("he takes a shot"), and contact ("ooo, he just took a shot").

But Pyscho T kept going and ended up winning last night in Durham. Even though he was roughed up, the refs really didn't call anything. Same thing on the other side of the ball. Duke would take charges, get hit on a three-pointer, get knocked over, anything, and there would be no call. Those refs had to come from a Foot Locker. Don't get me wrong, those "refs" are cool, just when they're doing their job at a store.

The game started off, and UNC capitatlized on just about every possession. Duke scored on every other possession. At halftime they were facing a double digit deficit. And then the 3's started falling. And the defense woke up. And everything Duke didn't do in the first half, they did in the 2nd half and then some. With less than 5 minutes left, they took the lead. The defense stayed strong, but when the Blue Devils were trying to build on their lead, they couldn't finish it. Why? Well I'll admit they did have some bad shots/passes. But some of the ref's calls (or miscalls, for that matter) didn't help. It happened for UNC too, during the game, but it seemed like every play down the stretch, the officials missed a call on UNC.

That led to UNC taking the lead back and scoring some more to finish it off. But the refs did feel sorry; with 15 seconds left they called a foul on UNC. Look, I know the refs didn't single handedly lose the game for Duke, but they sure didn't help them come back.

UNC did do good, I'll give it to them. But they'll have to watch out come ACC Tournament time. I hope they do avoid the upsets to the ACC nobody's that they have avoided all year long, make it to the finals, and play Duke. That would be a great rubber match. But both teams will have to make it that far first. But if they do, I have a Duke win.

This was a little more homer-ish than normal for me, but hey, it's how I felt after the game last night.
